National CRPS Awareness Ribbon
CRPS RSD is ranked as the most painful form of chronic pain that exists today by the McGill Pain Index.
Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, or CRPS, formerly known as RSD or Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy is a progressive disease of the Autonomic Nervous System, and more specifically, the Sympathetic Nervous System. The pain is characterized as constant, extremely intense, and out of proportion to the original injury. The pain is typically accompanied by swelling, skin changes, extreme sensitivity, and can often be debilitating. It usually affects one or more of the four limbs but can occur in any part of the body and in over 70% of the victims it spreads to additional areas. READ MORE inside!
American RSDHope's website includes; description of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), signs, symptoms, etiology, physical therapy, Medical and Coping articles, nerve blocks, medications, treatments, social security, Fibromyalgia, Links, Support Groups, and much more.
American RSDHope is a National non-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, or CRPS, formerly known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome, RSDS.
American RSDHope was officially formed in April of 1995 by Bob Orsini, Lynne Orsini, and Keith Orsini to provide support, information, and education to the millions of CRPS patients across the United States and beyond: as well as to their loved ones, friends, caretakers, and Medical Professionals: and to educate the General Public about the disease.
We began meeting in chat-rooms starting in late 1993 before we built our first website in 1994. That website eventually had nearly 14 Million Visitors in early 2011. We then moved on to our new location here and began the next chapter in our story. You can learn more about American RSDHope, our wonderful Board of Directors, and our organization in the About Us drop-down menu above.
